Highly accomplished and clever, Skylah Jones is a skilled piano tutor and mentor for anyone seeking greater achievement and enjoyment in musical studies. With a background in classical music Skylah has been playing piano since early childhood and dedicated her whole life to this musical craft.

Skylah is highly experienced and delivers expert tuition to her students creating a very professional atmosphere which is evident in each lesson and shows in the results she creates in her students.

Skylah’s love of the Suzuki method is an exciting technique that teaches the student how to play music by ear by means of training the ear or aural skills by which musicians learn solely by "hearing" the music and learning to identify melody, pitch, rhythms and the basic sound elements of musical structure. Training and developing the ear all come with musical exercises which when practiced can eventually progress to the ability of recognizing notes in music and the capability of working out melodies just by ear. This vital skill is then used in composing and writing music.

Ear training builds that connection between the ability to relate to sound and melody as well as developing musical listening skills to enable the listener to anticipate the melody that comes next in a musical piece. Being able to determine the sound elements in music is rewarding and useful especially if you are going to be creating and composing your own songs.

Piano scales are an essential part of learning this beautiful instrument as this gives you a foundation in which to build on to be a great player.

Skylah develops her own exercises as well as teaching traditional piano scales including your typical legato, staccato, arpeggios, contrary motion scales, chromatics, basic chord progression and descending and ascending scales and harmonic minor scales just to name a few.

Skylah teaches a range of styles of any genre, this includes "The Blues" introducing the 12 bar blues progression, all pop rock and modern songs as well as contemporary piano and improvisation.
