My husband and I have attended singing lessons with Skylah for the past 5.5 years. The experience I had with Skylah Jones over a two year period was unforgettable. I learnt a lot from Skylah and I was able to take on board tips and tricks to help me with Piano and Vocals. Being proactive is significant when people learn piano and/or how to best improve their vocals, and Skylah is there to support you, in order to push you to the best of your ability. Skylah and I have a strong relationship, as we have had lots of laughs and fun times whilst still working. In my opinion, having Skylah as my Piano and Vocals teacher was such a privilege and I will never forget the experience I had with her. If I was to name one thing that I learnt about Skylah, it is to face your fears and just get up there and have a go. To me, there is no right or wrong way to face your fears, obviously it was very uncomfortable, but I faced my fear, which is singing in front of people. Your first reaction may be, why do singing lessons? Well, I had singing lessons to improve, just as anyone else would. There was a time where I had high anxiety levels about everything, but Skylah supported me and encouraged me to push past that - it was, by far, a decision I will never regret doing. I will stop before I go on to bore everyone with all the memories and experiences that I will never forget, but I think you get the idea. Just to reiterate, without being too biased, Skylah Jones was by far the best and most helpful Piano and Vocals teacher and anyone who is a student of Skylah's is incredibly privileged to have her as a teacher.

My name is Mandy Wilson, my 16 year old daughter Shanae has been a student of Skylah’s for 3 years now. She has had singing teachers in the past and the differences between them and Skylah are huge, my daughter is quite shy and Skylah was able to put her at ease in the first couple of lessons. This has allowed her to feel comfortable to sing like we all hear at home!!!. She has a way of being relatable to the kids and the parents. Her method of teaching is fast paced which keeps the kids interested and increases the songs that they can then sing. I have also noticed a definite increase in her range. I have been visiting Skylah Jones for vocal and piano lessons since mid-2015 and would love to say a big thank you to Skylah for her professionalism and guidance whilst helping me to develop and improve my skills. From the first lesson, I was really impressed and excited by Skylah’s positive energy, enthusiasm and warmth. Skylah creates a very safe and comfortable environment to learn and grow in and what I appreciate the most is that Skylah encourages you to embrace your own unique sound and not compare yourself or try to imitate other singers. Skylah also encourages me to sing and play music styles I actually enjoy or want to learn more about.

When I first started lessons with Skylah, we were focusing on strengthening my vocals and trying new techniques for different styles of singing. I was so happy when my voice improved in a very short amount of time, which really helped my confidence levels and showed me that with a really positive Teacher who pushes you to do only the best with the voice you have, you can achieve wonderful results. I perform in community theatre and the first show I performed in after starting my training with Skylah was quite challenging, but the positive feedback from the audience included commenting on how much stronger and richer my vocals had become.

As our lessons continued, Skylah started to explore other areas of music with me and embraced my goals of learning how to play piano to accompany myself as a solo artist. Skylah adapts her teaching style to my needs and uses a variety of methods, which helped me to start listening and actually playing music very quickly, as opposed to classical training which I have tried in the past at other schools with very little success. I am by no means a professional piano player who can accompany herself as yet, but I am on my way and with Skylah’s continued support and training, the day will come! The more important aspect to me is I am enjoying learning how to play piano, thanks to Skylah’s patience and creative methods of learning. What will be my next step with Skylah? Learning the art of song writing!

I first met Skylah Jones in July 2013. I have always wanted to do singing but never had enough money to do so. Now that I have enough money for lessons, I called Skylah and asked if I could start lessons with her, she immediately found space for me as I was extremely keen to sing and she fit me in for a regular time. When I got to my first singing lesson Skylah was nothing like what I expected. She was gorgeous, relaxed, had a huge smile on her face and made me feel so comfortable. I want to share about Skylah and what a wonderful piano and singing coach she is for my daughter. We first met Skylah a number of years ago when for a short time she coached my son basic piano and some vocals. Brendan went on to make music his career now with his band “Stateside” Last year my daughter who was 7 at the time started piano with Skylah and this year she has added singing to her lessons too. Jasmine loves her lessons because Skylah makes them fun and interesting – nothing repetitive from one lesson to another. I had been taking lessons with Skylah for almost a year. Skylah brings out the music in people. She is a wealth of knowledge, lessons were always fun and and she knew exactly where to assist and how to do it. I loved my weekly lessons but had to have a break due to some circumstances. Writing this, I am currently thinking on how and when I can fit lessons with Skylah back into my schedule/life, as I have really missed having them and have missed learning from such an awesome teacher. For just over 5 and half Years I have been a student of Skylah Jones, attending piano lessons for 30 minutes a week.
I am a “different” student as I am in the Seniors, 72 + category. My aim at this tender age is to be able to play a few well known tunes on the piano.
As I have no musical background I thought this might be an impossible task. However with Skylah’s patient attitude, I am achieving my goals.
Not only am I able to suggest which pieces I would like to learn, but Skylah will simplify those difficult chords, if I am a tad too ambitious!
I would certainly recommend Skylah as a caring teacher, who, whatever your age, will assist you in learning, playing and enjoying music.

Skylah is a wonderful vocal teacher! She is patient and is very experienced in teaching music to children. Her vocal warm ups are very useful and entertaining. She is very organized and her lessons are always productive without any interruption which I really appreciate! I liked working with Skylah because there are fun exercises like the sheep song, which is very fun and unexpectedly funny! Skylah is very kind and patient and understands how the kids are going. There is also 3 concerts each year which includes the Easter concert, the Christmas concert and the original concert, where kids may sing songs that they themselves have personally written fresh.

For years I had a fear of singing in public. It was so bad that I wouldn’t even sing lullabies to my babies if my husband was home. I always knew that I wanted to learn to sing but I was petrified. So much so that I had even called a few voice coaches and singing teachers but hung up when they answered because I started to cry. One birthday my husband gifted me with lessons with Skylah… I sucked it up, got my brave on and drove to the first lesson (not without contemplating turning around 3 times on the way there!!). Skylah was so beautiful and patient. Her warm nature and infectious laugh had me so relaxed that I barely even teared up during that first lesson… I had been so sure that I would ball my eyes out! She took me through her unique program and with all her professional experience and limitless patience, I am now singing comfortably at home while I do the washing up… it doesn’t matter who’s around!!
